Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026 • Compliant with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Marks Auto Driving (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. This privacy notice explains how we collect and manage personal records when you engage us for driver training services.

1. Information We Collect

When you register for lessons or inquire about intensive courses, we collect essential personal data to facilitate booking and DVSA requirements:

  • Identity Details: Full name, date of birth, and provisional/full driving licence number (for DVSA validation).
  • Contact Details: Email address, phone number, and residential pick-up address.
  • Tuition & Booking Details: Lesson dates, pick-up location history, mock test results, and practical test schedules.
  • Financial Details: Direct bank transfer references or billing summaries (payment processing is managed securely, and we never store raw credit card details).

2. How We Use Your Data

We process your information strictly to deliver professional driver training and comply with UK transport regulations:

  • To schedule and coordinate automatic driving lessons with your designated Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
  • To verify your licence eligibility status via the official DVSA licence check service.
  • To communicate updates regarding schedule adjustments, bad weather cancellations, or lesson receipts.
  • To book practical driving tests on your behalf through the DVSA booking gateway.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, lease, or distribute your private personal data. Information is shared only with trusted entities required to complete your training:

  • Your Assigned Instructor: Your name, phone number, and pick-up postcode are shared with your assigned ADI for lesson delivery.
  • The DVSA: Licence details are submitted to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency to verify licensing records and confirm test appointments.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required under UK road safety regulations or in response to official law enforcement requests.

4. Storage & Security Controls

Data security is critical to our operation. We utilize commercial-grade security protocols to protect your personal details:

Digital files are kept within encrypted database systems. Access is strictly limited to authorized scheduling staff and ADIs. In accordance with HMRC tax guidelines and insurance criteria, we retain pupil tuition and payment records for a maximum of 6 years following training completion, after which files are safely purged.

5. Your Legal Rights

Under UK GDPR legislation, you hold the following rights regarding the personal information we maintain:

  • Right to Access: Ask for a digital copy of all personal records we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate contact or licence details.
  • Right to Erasure: Request that we delete your data (subject to legally mandated retention periods for business taxation and motor insurance logs).
  • Right to Object: Restrict or withdraw consent for marketing text messages or email newsletters.

Questions or Complaints?

If you have questions about this policy or believe we have processed your personal records incorrectly, please email us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) via their website.
